    Special Prayer Request

    April 1, 2010

Hopefully you all received the great news about the water.  We are very excited about this.  It has been a stressor for us and know that prayer has been answered.  Thank you, too, for all the prayers since the earthquake.  That event has changed a lot of things but we are seeing the good coming out of the difficulties.  It has opened up UCI's ministry to more people--more people for Christ!!  The board here has done a good job at identifying immediate needs as well as being open to God's leading for long-term goals.
I'm writing you guys today to let you know of another prayer request.  We have been working on UCI's NGO status for awhile.  Things do not usually work quickly here.  But, due to UCI's help with the earthquake--here and in Port-au-Prince--the Ministry of Social Services is wanting to bump our application up.  That is amazing.  For those of you who know HAFF, it took them 15-20 years from establishment to get their NGO.  Caleb Lucien, a national, has been working for 20 years and he just got his as well.  The officials will be here tomorrow, Lord willing, to review the ministry sites.  We are having all the nutrition center leaders and kids, the 91 families that received cement floors to this date, the board and employees, and others who want to testify as to how UCI is working.  We have pastors from Port-au-Prince that will help us out, too.  It is very exciting and a great opportunity to have UCI spread all over Haiti.  But, we leave it all in God's hands.  We have found out that the men coming are not Christians.  We will be very open as to how our ministry is based on Christ and be bold to state that this is the reason for the ministry's progress.  Who knows, maybe seeds will be planted.
We ask for your prayers.  God bless!!
